Good book, but Amazon Customer This is the first book by David Capps that I've read. It was an enjoyable read, but I couldn't help wondering if tighter writing would help. Concentrate on Washington, Beijing, and the submarines; skip the small-town on the Oregon coast. What was the motivation of the officer working in the Pentagon? His motivation regarding Iran was obvious, but his motivation with China was not clear. If the small town had to be included, at least remove the relationship between the mayor and her daughter and granddaughter; those things added nothing. Just my thoughts. "I consider this to be a Must Read Story for Every American Citizen!" according to Kactus Kathy. Too few of us are aware of the politics and technology of the world we live in today. In addition, few of us even realize the highly precarious position of the U.S. monetary/debt and how this inter-relates to our status as a world power.It would be my recommendation that this finely written novel be a must read in High Schools across America the same as "198I consider this to be a Must Read Story for Every American Citizen!
