By pressing a picture button that matches the picture on the corresponding page, a catchy tune from the show plays and you can read the words and sing a long. There is also a button that will record sounds.Even though you can hear these songs being played ove. aih said Great in the car to entertain. My little boy has loved this book to the point of it falling apart (which took about 8 months of daily abuse). If he is fussy in the car, out comes his Thomas book & all is well. The funny part is, he has never watched the Thomas show- he just loves the songs and illustrations.
