DESCRIPTION:
Stratohound said and gave it a new meaning as making love to music) to the musical. The guitar parts from Tommy all in one place--I'll take it! Music magazines have transcribed to death a few of the songs from Tommy, but the quality of the music as music and as guitar playing has long cried out for a complete transcribed version. This volume is a no-brainer for guitar players who recognize Townsend's creative voice in both electric and acoustic guitar playing. He created a unique sonic identity in his blend of harmony, melodic figure, and rhythm. Very accurate guitar tab, with a nice extra Kay Emm Gee The transcriptions in the book are extremely accurate. These are new transcriptions, they are not the same ones found in previous books.I've played through the book and have not found one error. All of Townsend's guitar parts have been painstakingly transcribed which gets tricky because Pete used 5 different guitar tunings throughout the album: standard, drop-D, full step down, half step down, and down a minor third. Sometimes multiple tunings are used in the co. "Classic Rock Opera" according to Really!. If you have never listened to The Who's Tommy, you truly don't understand what the 60's music movement was all about. The album changed the entire concept of rock music. Instead of unrelated individual songs, an entire story is pieced together from the first to the last song. They are all interconnected and relate to Pete Townsend's underlying theme. I can never listen to this work of art too much.
