Bob Jackson said Gypsies, Priests, Horse Traders, and Chinese Porcelain. I stumbled onto this author (George Borrow) while reading the non-Holmesian works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Conan Doyle wrote a short story spoofing the style and, to some extent, the content of Borrow’s works. The Conan Doyle story was very entertaining, at least to me. So, I decided to try Borrow and subse. A brilliant writer. His scenes and the people in them Sky George Borrow has been almost forgotten. A brilliant writer. His scenes and the people in them almost literally come to life---as he travels the byways of the UK. Sometimes as a tinker, sometimes as a gypsy, sometimes just as the adventurer he is.. Strange reason Looked for this book for a long time until I found it at the Harold Washington Library in downtown Chicago. But I couldn't own it I couldn't even check it out. But when I got the chance to buy it for free on Kindle, I jumped on it. But to tell the truth I couldn't read past the first chapters. It is just one book I
