DESCRIPTION:
Nice try. Well, not really. Haiku is not just a tiny poem. It requires discipline and the willingness to discard or rework, rework the abject or NEARLY okay poems. Mark needed an editor from whom he was willing to hear the news. The project itself is monumental which is why I gave it stars. You keep at it Mark, we don't achieve what we don't attempt. On the other hand, you need to know where you are going to get there.
Can the book of Genesis be summarized in five-seven-five haiku? Just how concisely can the biblical accounts be represented? These questions have led to this collection of forty-seven haiku summarizing Old Testament events and people with emphasis on how these point us to Christ. The poems cover widely known stories – deep familiarity with the Bible is not required. The title of each haiku is a link which can be followed to relevant scriptural references for further reading.
