Outstanding! Romance is not my 'go to' genre, but I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this book. West has created complex characters and a well-paced, satisfying storyline in The Long Way Home. I especially appreciated the North Carolina setting and culture featured in this novel. West has artfully created a southern tale without relying on clichés. This book challenged my preconceived notions of the romance genre and delivered a story that I am happily recommending to my frien.
