The information era in which we currently live is changing the culture of education. The use of information technologies has resulted in new opportunities that are rapidly growing to include mobile learning, an evolution of distance learning characterized as a paradigm shift from d-learning (distance) to e-learning (electronic) to m-learning (mobile). This book encompasses three distinctive divisions which include: (1) detailed definitions of mobile learning while providing an analytical and theoretical background of distance education; (2) results of pilots, projects and trials relevant to the use of mobile teaching and learning; and (3) the assessment and future of mobile education.
