Angela Montante said I loved all the short stories in this book. I loved all the short stories in this book. It was very well written and the characters in this story were very interesting. I loved how each story brought new surprises. Mena developed very interesting female characters within her stories. My favorite story by far was The Birth of the God of War. I loved the Mexican mythology involved in the stories, it really brought a lot of interesting stories to light. This books teaches about the believes of Mexican peopl. The first being that the short stories were very well written and gave me insight as to the ways of thinking of that time period around the Mexican Revolution. I understand more clearly how the Mexicans lived their lives and what they felt, whether they were the upper class or the lower class.
