In her journey she discovers an understanding of femininity that is timeless and groundbreaking. Does God treat femininity as a role, a curse, or a gift? And when Jesus redeemed women, what was it exactly that he redeemed? Even after Eden, Fincher points out, God planned to redeem both men and women. She goes step by step through what it means to be a woman and how to cultivate her soul, choosing not to shy away from psychology, theology or personal transparency. Ruby Slippers provides women (and men) with a balanced and substantive---yet entirely accessible---treatment of feminini

"Sometimes insightful; other times, the same old same old" according to Khendra. I got this book for three reasons: one, because this is a subject that has been an issue for me. I've never been particularly feminine, and my awareness of this fact has only been heightened the further I've gone on into my adulthood, what with an Asperger Syndrome diagnosis and all, having to deal with expectations and stereotypes in the church and secular culture that I've been unable to live up to, etc. Two, I greatly respected the author for coming out and admitting she has struggled with lust on the web site, Her.meneutics. Her post (which always has between approximately t. Free to be me! The ultimate ascent to the freedom of being who God made a woman to be - Female. We are made in the image of God. God created them male and female. He called His creation "good". It is good to be fully feminine.. A very good read I am very familiar with this author and her husband's ministry from Colorado. Having been in the audience at Biola University a few years ago to see and hear her speak about this book. This is my second reading of this relevant book. I recommend this for women who are looking for a closer relationship and a deeper understanding of the heart of Jesus Christ for their lives.
