This is a good read, short and succinct Doug This is a good read, short and succinct, with very little unnecessary fluff thrown in to fill the pages. The hero of the story, John Thorn, works for Homeland Security and is, of course, very clever and adept in his duties. The action starts with the first sentence of the first chapter and moves quickly and smoothly to the end. I do have two concerns: first, the author needs to tighten up on the proofreading. At one point, two bad guys are crossing from Canada to the U.S. and the story tells they are prepared for the increased security at the 'boarder' though I believe the text is supposed to read 'border.'. "Good potential" according to Tim. Good book from a new author with a lot of potential. A bit more subtlety and a fair bit more character development is required, and perhaps a bit of a view of keeping things slightly more realistic. More editing also required, rooms are dimly lit, light fittings are not. All in all, a good read if you like action/adventure type books.
