"Content vs Presentation" according to R. Ambelang. The problem with this book (Bonanza Edition) is with the poor quality of the physical book. The photographs are fine, but the paper is average and the half tones are not very good. Compared to Ball's "Rails" (Norton, 1981), there is no contest. The Norton volume is on heavier coated stock with sufficient line-screen count for beautiful images. The Bonanza book in comparison is just sad.Question: Can anyone comment on the quality of the original NYGS edition of Rails:AMJ? I presume it was much better. Real rail. I wanted to show a friend this book as he owns a hobby store and told him I knew the Son of books writer, Don Ball.He was impressed as many of the photographers contributing to the book he knew and had just spoken to one the day before.It is a very interesting book of a great time in history how the Steam Engine changed this Country.Thak You Mr. Ball.The book also was almost new condition.
