I have just gotten into reading urban lit - I am mostly a nonfiction fan - but as a NYC resident I love urban books - especially those that I can relate to. This book was well written, going back and forth between the two main characters as the narrators.If you live in NYC you will notice a lot of the references to places in the city's boroughs that are "hot spots"The author has a excellent command and understanding of street talk, especially NY street talk, whic. I think the newness of this type of experience was enough to keep me reading but I don't know if I'd read it again if I had more experience with this type of book.It's a very easy ready being not very long at all and the pace is reasonably quick. I was immediately drawn in by the dual narration format that really seemed to capture two distinct personalities. It made the book interesting but I was also annoyed
