DESCRIPTION:
One of the most important books to read if you're interested in the Middle East Randy Folks, as I write this Tunisia & Egypt have been in revolution, and Libya is in flames. If you're looking at all of this from the West, you can only shake your head and wonder where it's all going, when you pile this on top of Iraq, Iran & Israel/Palestine. With this backdrop, King Abdullah II of Jordan has stepped into the breech as a moderate and thoughtful Middle Eastern leader, hoping to stem the tide of change into produ. I thought it would be rescheduled but I just finished reading it and it was a delightful experience, though I haven't got the time yet to write a proper review yet, but I have a short one to share.Putting aside that King Abdullah II is my king, the book is an amazing piece. He covered different chapters of his life, personal and professional in which both are affected by the life course of the Kingdom.I can't deny that I was shocked to see the publishing time was. a life and guide for action As an American, I find it difficult to relate to and understand the daily life of the world outside. King Abdullah II changes that, presenting one of the biggest issues of the modern day in a very human story. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is shared by one person, who describes the experiences, the obstacles, and the potential all within a deep and personaland. This book is vital for the modern age, and I cannot recommend

A newsbreaking memoir that tackles head-on the toughest challenge in the world today. The prize is enormous, the cost of failure far greater than we dare imagine.. This is the inspirational story of a young prince who went to boarding school in America and military academy in Britain and grew up believing he would be a soldier. Then, suddenly, he found himself king. Together with his wife, Queen Rania, he transformed what it meant to be a monarch, going undercover to escape the bubble of the court while she became the Muslim world's most passionate advocate of women's rights. When a dying King Hussein shocked the world by picking his son rather than his brother, the longtime crown prince, to be the next king of Jordan, no one was more surprised than the young head of Special Operations, who discovered his life was in for a major upheaval. Why would a sitting head of state choose to write about the most explosive issues he faces? King Abdullah does so now because he believes we face a moment of truth: a last chance for peace in the Middle East. In this exceptionally candid memoir, King Abdullah tackles the single toughest issue he faces head-on-
