Good beginner's books MARVIN A.WALKE I would have given this a five star rating, but some of the slide position for some notes are not right. It's better than some books for this purpose Paul George It's better than some books for this purpose, but nowadays that's not high praise, as today's crop of music lesson books generally are a dismal lot. This book is weak in the ways one expects from a book that forms part of series of similar books. Useful information specific to playing saxophone tends to get neglected (such as the rationale for calling it a "transposing" instrument), but still it does fairly well . Jay said Five Stars.
