"One of our bedtime favorites" according to L. Burke. We've checked out more lullaby bedtime books from the library than I can count and this was the only one we decided we HAD to purchase. Some lullaby books are just too long or complicated, with various new scenes on each page. My toddler would end up asking more questions than relaxing. Lala Salama is such a sweet, beautiful little lullaby about one small family, and the illustrations are soothing and dreamy. One of our bedtime favorites!. Cindy Mitchell said Lullaby for Tanzania. The life of a child in Tanzania is unimaginable for the little children of the USA - except that MacLachlan's words and Zunon's illustrations paint a vivid picture for them. Gorgeous pictures & a great look at a culture totally different from ours. My daughter always comments how strong the woman is to farm & cook all the while carrying the baby. Its a good bedtime story as the cadence of the words are lyrical & soothing. Love the sweet little family dynamic. Really great book.
