"The author's image processing book is better" according to calvinnme. Everything that this book says on sound processing has long since become obsolete with the progression of Java and the advent of Java sound. The only real reason to ever buy this book - the Java FFT application - is included in the author's book on image processing, which is. Concise technical info hard to find elsewhere. It is hard to find Java specific information on DSP and this book does the job admirably. Plenty of code examples and a rather monolithic Java application (that's a good thing!) are included. Update at authors website highly reccomended.
