DESCRIPTION:
. He is author of the popular "LC Troubleshooting" column in LCGC magazine and coauthor with Lloyd Snyder of Troubleshooting LC Systems and High-Performance Gradient Elution. Kirkland, PhD, is Vice President of Research and Development for Advanced Materials Technology, Inc., and coauthor of Introduction to Modern Liquid Chromatography, Second Edition, Practical HPLC Method Development, Second Edition, and Modern Size-Exclusion Liquid Chromatography, Second Edition, all published by Wile
?This book is a greatly expanded and revised edition of its predecessor.? (Analytical Biochemistry, 1981)
This Second Edition incorporates the latest developments in the practical application of LC. Offers thorough treatment of such areas as quantitative and qualitative analysis by HPLC, preparative scale separations, gradient elution and column-switching, sample pretreatment and reaction detectors, automated systems for high-volume testing and/or samples requiring pretreatment, troubleshooting and sample artifacts, and selection and development of LC method for a particular applications.. Covers the basic of LC, the six LC methods and their applications, and various specialized areas. Provides material for in-depth comprehension of how HPLC is performed, what the necessary materials are,
Excellent book Adrian Bugeja Douglas Clearly and well explained book. A book that every scientist working in the field of separation science and HPLC should posses.. This book is impressive. I am a high throughput chemist at a biotech and purify my own samples. I have been running my own HPLC mass spec for 5+ years and recently bought this book and have been pretty successful at running my instrument. This book is good for understanding chromatography, but it is also good for actual methods in the lab. This book contains enough information to fill a college course for a semester or maybe even two semesters. I highly recommend this book.. Crystal Thomas said They never dissapoint. I have an older edition of this book, and I bought this one primarily because I was using it as a reference in a paper and wanted the most up to date version. I thought: how different could it be? Answer: I've already changed some techniques, ideas as a result of what I've read.Pros: well organized clearly written very informative-lots of information for anyone new to chromatography, and for experienced chromatographersI love these guys!
