Understanding IS could never get easier for Managers! After having studied this very book for a semester, I cannot help but reiterate the earlier comments made about this book: it is extremely easy to read, entirely thorough, and highly informative.Unlike most academic textbooks where only careful sifting and digging through masses of technical jargon will result in information actually sinking in, Gabe Piccoli's book is written is such a reader-friendly way that the information just "sticks" after a first read!If you are studying or attempting to teach others why, how, and when managers should use IT & IS within their business, this truly is the best that money can buy . "Time Well Spent" according to Alexis Strong. I must admit, I was a skeptic. I NEVER thought anything about "IT" (which I now know to be "IS") would be interesting to me, but this book proved me wrong. Simply put, it is well-written with clear examples of the theories and frameworks it introduces as well as great business cases that can be used for discussion. More than just providing a clear lesson in IS, this book was engaging and enjoyable to read.In the end, I feel better educated about a subject that will no doubt be vital to successful managers in the future. Studying this subject and reading this book was definitely time well spent.. Useful IT Textbook for Managers If you don't know much about IT and don't think you need to know anything more about it THIS IS THE BOOK FOR YOU! It is an easy book that engages the reader taking him/her (through a serie of practical specific cases) to understand that IT is not just a technology junkie matter but an essential knowledge for any type of manager and entrepreneur.I do not curently work in an IT-related position but I often find myself utilizing what I learned from this reading.Overall a very useful book.
