M. J. Selby is at University of Waikato.

Author is Selby not sleby. A Customer This book is an excellent overview of geomorphic processes on hillslopes. Great diagrams and clear discussions make this useful for both students and professionals in the field. Field techniques and instrumentation are described. Only downfall is that it lacks a glossary.

This book is intended for students who approach the study of hillslopes, and the rocks and soils on which they develop, from such traditional disciplines as geomorphology, geology, engineering, and soil science. The text attempts to integrate the relevant subject matter from these disciplines from the point of view of an earth scientist.

Firth, West London Institute`It provides an excellent integration of earth materials and processes - it would even be a good entry to the literature as soils and weathering - first rate in my view.' Dr J.A. Burt, University of Oxford`Book provides a good introductory text to hillsides, and is much improved on the first edition in terms of detail.' Dr C.R. Rice, University of Leicester`This looks to be a most useful and extensive review and is most welcome.' Dr T.P. Holmes, Kingston University`It is one of the few geomorphological texts which manages to integrate process and historical approaches in a global framework.' Dr Mark G. `An excellent, comprehensive book.' Dr R.J. Kirby, University of Leeds`Excellent book.' David Eastaff, Salford University`a well organised, authoritative textbook this superbly produced second edition deserves a place on the book shelves of all practising geomorphologists and on the library shel
