Great Read but I was left in the dust occasionally addicted to books Jack is a fun protagonist - partly because he is a cocky arrogant guy who does need to be taken down a notch - but then he redeems himself with lots of smarts. I enjoy a book that is set in a known place and so it takes you mentally into that location. It is a trick that Tony Hillerma. "Lots of twists" according to Anne. I hadn't read the first book, but didn't have a problem with the character set up after I understood there was a character switch between the first and second chapters.
