I love all of the Marillier books I have read Sharyn McCrystall I love all of the Marillier books I have read, her characters are portrayed in depth and their inner conflicts life-like. Her development of the Sevenwaters series and the characters involved amazes me as one generation follows another in a multitude of complex situations and realationships.. Was very disappointed in this book I have been a huge fan of Juliet Marillier ever since I read Daughter of the Forest when it first came out. She has always been a descriptive and poetical writer and even though some people would find it boring I enjoy it. But then this book came. The rest of the review will have spoilers for anyone interested. This is slow, completely unbelievable. The "heroine" is annoying and the "hero" came out of left field. The hero and his brother were turned into dogs by a faerie (nobody knows but has seen these two strange dogs walking around everywhere). Then the heroine's nephew runs off into the forest or gets kidnapped and sh. "A fitting conclusion to Maeve's story" according to A Book Obsession. Flame of Sevenwaters by Juliet Marillier is the latest in the Heir to Sevenwaters series. As in the other books in this world, it deal with the way that humans and fey living in the Sevenwaters Forest deal with one another. The author summarizes some of the other plot elements as both healing and sacrifice. Those are tall orders, but with the right scale, it comes off neatly and in a way that will please readers of this series. In this book, the protagonist is Maeve, first seen in `Child of Prophecy.
