This rather chunky board book (there are other editions) is very sweet!Dora the hen is very proud of her first clutch of eggs. Then, as she visits friends in the barnyard, she wonders if her eggs are so special after all. All the other lively animal babies seem so special, versus her still round eggs. The pictures are bright and the language simple and repetitive which make this book a favorite with my three-year-old daughter. Initially, we checked it out from the library, (she picked it out) and cried when we had to return it. She still mentions it and I am ordering it for her own library.
