Put it right up there with Where the Red Fern Grows I remember reading this book over and over again when I was a pre teen, and I still remember almost everything about it (I'm 26 now). In fact, this was probably my favorite book. A tale of a boy and his dogand what they have to do to a). get to like one another, b). form their strong bond,. "One of my favorite Childhood books" according to Amazon Customer. I'm now a 27 yo female and I still love this book. I bought it to pass down to my kids. One of the books I read many times as a young girl. I checked it out of my elementary school library at least 10 times. Now I own it, I'm so proud. Great for kids.. Jessica CE said Broken English. Content aside, I cannot believe this book is for children learning to speak and read. The main character does not speak in complete sentences. Half of the sentences do not have subjects. My 8 year-old was reading this to me, and we had to stop and say- what would be the correct way to say
