Another nice feature is that you don't need to have MATLAB Image Processing Toolbox (IPT) to implement the algorithm in the book, the authors provide a HNO MATLA. "Beyond heuristics in image restoration" according to Bo Martins. I already bought this book once through the company I work for. This time I wanted a copy for myself - that is how good this book is. If you are concerned with image quality, this book potentially opens up a marvelous new world. You must be an engineer or similarly scholared to understand the book. Furthermore, you must have access to Matlab and you must expect to invest tons of hours.. Very Interesting Stuff! It comes with some matlab code to help you get started with image processing. I think it was well written and pretty easy to understand. You may want a linear algebra book as well, just because the spectral decomposition stuff isn't always taught in undergrad math.
