It devolved into something like a bad acid trip Rioseco I was really enjoying the story right up to the final chapters. It devolved into something like a bad acid trip. Odd. "Hard Boiled Ninja Epic" according to Z. Gotroti. So far my favorite mystery novel of the 2000s has been Inherent Vice by Thomas Pynchon That was about a psychedelic detective trying to find a LSD Real estate Mogul though his hoards of Aryan Brotherhood biker goons while solving the riddle of Golden Fang the heroin smuggling Chinese pirate-ship.Hopefully Monaco's Gritty new Ninja thriller shall hold up nicely. After reading his recently released Quest for Avalon, a hard hitting tale of Canabalism, black magic, Arthurian raunch, and apocalyptic chaos, I suspect it will be masterful. Kurosawa Meets Raymond Chandler Leverett Butts Next to Parsival, this is the best novel by Monaco. I'm so thrilled to have a new novel by one of the nation's best writers. Can't wait for Volume 2!
