The result is a very insightful view into behind-the-scenes methods of movie scoring. As an aspiring musician I also appreciate the large amount of sheet music within the pages. The purchase price is worth it, even just for the cd of actual, original soundtrack (not music re-recorded for later album release as Manc. Should not have purchased this Being such a Thorn Birds fan and loving the soundtrack the way I do and after reading the two great reviews of this I jumped right in and bought it. It was slightly interesting but since I don't read music a lot of it was lost on me. The CD that comes with this is quite short and for me not worthy of the purchase of the book. In the future I'll be more careful of what to buy. But still, it's a good collector's item.
