The authors relate in a direct and clear fashion how concepts can be used to help understand current events.. No other textbook provides such a thorough treatment of international/global issues. International and comparative labor relations are both integrated throughout and receive full chapter treatment. Two extensive, class-tested mock-bargaining exercises are included. Numerous examples are provided in the text and in boxes that include coverage on recent strikes, collective bargaining negotiations, and other contemporary collective bargaining events. Authored by a well-respected team in labor relations, "An Introduction to Collective Bargaining and Industrial Relations, 4/e" covers key topics in industrial relations and collective bargaining using a unique conceptual framework based on the three levels of industrial relations activity (strategic, functional, and workplace)

"Not well suited as an introductory learning text" according to BA Student. This book was the required reading for an introductory class to the subject of industrial relations and collective bargaining. Experienced in the business world, I found this text difficult at best to follow, especially in terms of an historical time-line. I found the material extremely fragmented in presentation, seemingly jumping from one focus to another. It was a challenge to associate the context with the section headers, as the flow was not comfortably predictable. The text often assumes a prerequisite of knowledge that I didn't expect of introductory course material. The book al. "Easy to use and find key terms!" according to Katy A. Landolfi. I liked this book. It was a well wriiten text with minimal typos which I found to be uncommon lately. All the key terms were bold throughout the reading and easy to find. It also has a dictionary in the back for key terms which many newer text books no longer have. If you are looking for information fast, this is the book for you! Very easy to use!. Met Expectations The book was in great condition although it was a second-hand. It met all the expectations and I will definitely be back to purchase more.
