DESCRIPTION:
Jane E. Mcgonigal said The best book about me ever written!. I am the subject of this book! :) Although I was not a part of the writing of the book, I was happy to discover it and read it. :) It captures my early experiences with games particularly well.. "Being a great fan of Jane I do recommend this book and" according to GERARDO PENA R. A brief book about Jane McConigal's work so far. Being a great fan of Jane I do recommend this book and also advice you to seek her conferences at TED Talks (ted.com) or at the Computer History Museum (computerhistory.org or at the mueseum youtube channel) so you can get a better grasp of the things she is trying to accomplish through Gaming. Another great book I recommend from her is "Reality is Broken" if you wish to get a deeper understanding of how games and "gamification" can become a tool to accomplish great things.. Great for elementary teachers to read-aloud Judith McGonigal Would love to use this book in my elementary classroom to encourage females to view science, technology, and math as a great run-way for fame, fortune, and fun.
She enjoys challenging others to engage in modern issues and to work together, as in her game World Without Oil and in The Lost Ring, which she created for the 2008 Summer Olympics. As an adult, she saw games as an outlet for problem solving and teambuilding. McGonigal was named one of the world's top innovators by MIT's Technology Review, and her 2010 TED Talk, ""Gaming Can Make a Better World,"" is one of the most-watched of all time. "Do you like the challenge and adventure of video games? As Jane McGonigal was growing up, she had fun playing early video games. McGonigal started creating alternate reality games (ARGs), which may be based online but take place mainly in the real world. But how did she get there? Find out how she developed her passion for games to become the public face of game design."
