Three Stars Textbook. Excellent T. Rugg I work as an accountant and was looking for a book to brush up on AIS. I don't have any other books, except my university text, to compare this to but this book has done an excellent job bringing me up to speed on the current AIS function. This field is rapidly changing and its important for practioners to keep on top of this area of study. I was not disappointed. In my opinion, this book can make this everchanging field very comprehensible to practioners at any level.. Naftali/Cliff Anderson said "21st Century Accounting Information Systems" according to Naftali/Cliff Anderson. Unlike many of the other AIS textbooks still being sold, this textbook was well written to begin with and was seriously edited and re-written where necessary to improve its teaching quality in this 5th Edition. The only criticism that I have of the text was the failure to clearly address the problem of how to code database entries so that a statement of cash balance could be generated using the direct method.I would recommend a different graphic artist for this next cover, but the authors are right up there with Charles Horngren in my book for writing ea. 1st Century Accounting Information Systems. It is a complete text with a strong conceptual basis and real world examples to enhance learning. I find the illustrations in this text to be very effective. The book does a good job of communicating the system's analysts view, and allowing me to compare it with the typical accountant/auditor view of the system.I like the control matrix approach in chapters 7-9. The problems and case studies are excellent. I plan on using it indefinitely in the future! My students like the case studies and capsule cases. . I like the pedagogical devices used throughout the text
