P. Frye said A Cup of Christmas Tea. This is one of my favorite stories. I play it every Christmas and I give it as presents. A wonderful CD and I would recommend as a must for everyone.. "Delightful" according to K.G. Cuzzin. I picked up the cassette version in Hanover, NH while visiting the bookstore there, then my wife and I listened to it on the drive home to Connecticut. We'd heard about the book, but hadn't read it. What a treat. First, it surprised us to hear it in rhyme. But it wasn't rhymy, if you know what I mean. It flowed, and the sentences weren't doing somersaults to make the rhyme scheme work. It was great prose, too, not just poetry. And the narrative which carried the sentiment was so touching. Not even a half hour for both this story and the sequel, both of which were on the same cassette. Lovely. Delightful. Sorry I hadn't discovered it. This may be the best gift ever given. patrick808 I first heard this story on the radio during the Christmas season, many, many years ago. It might have been before Amazon even existed. I searched everywhere for the audio version, couldn't find it, and settled on the (first) book.If you are not familiar with the story, read it, listen to this Audio Book, share it with loved ones. If it touches just one person, it will be the best thing that ever happened to them.
Drawing on childhood memories, he composed a straightforward, sentimental poem that brought tears to his audience's eyes. First published in 1982, it's been a seasonal best-seller ever since.A Memory of Christmas Tea, published in 1999, is the heartwarming sequel. "If you find you have some time, how wonderful if we could have a little chat and share a cup of Christmas tea."A man receives an invitation from his elderly, ailing aunt and doesn't want to go. Revisiting the themes of A Cup of Christmas Tea, it gently reminds us of the important things in life—such as taking time for loved ones.. It's the midst of the Christmas rush, and who needs the aggravation? The depression? The strain? Driven by guilt, he visits her anyway, and rediscovers the true meaning of Christmas.Tom Hegg wrote A Cup of Christmas Tea in 1981, when his pastor asked him to write something for his church's 125th anniversary
